  1. a gay or smart man; an unlicensed cabman; also a large marble used by schoolboys.
  2. sixpence. The word is rarely used by itself, but generally denotes the sixpence attached to shillings in reference to cost, as, “three and a BUCK,” three shillings and sixpence. Probably a corruption of Fyebuck.
